Together, they are calling on Swedish policymakers to address growing regulatory pressures that are undermining the availability of short-term and temporary housing for business travellers and relocating professionals. Sweden\u2019s tightly regulated rental market &#8211; with its rent controls, strict subletting laws, and limited housing stock &#8211; is making it increasingly difficult for companies to house employees on temporary assignments. As the global workforce becomes more mobile, the corporate housing sector is playing a vital role in enabling economic growth; yet providers in Sweden face mounting barriers to operating legally and flexibly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt a time when the demand for mobility is increasing across Europe, the sector needs clarity, flexibility, and support \u2013 not further constraint,\u201d says James Foice, ASAP CEO.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough we do not currently represent any serviced apartment operators based in Sweden, we do have ASAP Members in other parts of northern Europe, including Norway, Denmark and the Czech Republic. And we are all too aware of issues affecting temporary corporate housing right across the continent, as many governments try to tackle pressure on their local permanent housing stock.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCorporate housing is not just about convenience \u2013 it\u2019s an economic enabler,\u201d says Niclas Bl\u00e5klinth, FBB Chairman &amp; Spokesperson. \u201cWithout access to flexible, compliant accommodation, Sweden risks becoming less attractive to global talent and business investment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Foice concludes: \u201c\u201cWith this collaboration, we stand in solidarity with FBB and the wider serviced accommodation community in Sweden and elsewhere in Europe, as they push for common-sense reforms that support responsible providers and the businesses they serve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ASAP and FBB share a commitment to standards, transparency, and responsible operations, and their collaboration reflects a broader effort to ensure the serviced accommodation sector is recognised and supported across international markets.
